Dr. James Reiman graduated from Wake Forest University with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. He received his M.D. degree from the University of South Carolina in 1986 where he graduated with honors. He was recognized as the top student in his class in Anatomy and Surgery and was granted membership to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He then completed a general surgery internship at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois followed by an anesthesia residency at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Lukes Medical Center in Chicago. There he had extensive training in regional anesthesia and pain management. He finished training in 1990 and moved to Jacksonville where he took an appointment with the University of Florida at University Hospital (now Shands) as an associate professor. In 1991, he decided to enter private practice with North Florida Anesthesia Associates at Baptist Hospital. He practiced there for 17 years before joining CenterOne in 2008. He has experience in all areas of anesthesia. Dr. Reiman has consulted on the development of specialized airways for laser surgery and holds a patent for a pain management system for chest surgery. He is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology.
Dr. Reiman has been married to Liz for 25 years. He has 4 children. The house is divided with a ‘Nole, a Cane, and a Gator. Liz graduated from Georgia. Saturday afternoon can be complicated.
